Total beginners and experts welcome!

Our last beginner pottery session was in Sept, with interest there will be another introductory package at the beginning of next year. As a total beginner we recommend one of these packages to the potential of the material, some basic forming techniques and have some of your own work to take home and enjoy.  If your excited to start immediately and willing to play catchup ( comfortable being lost at times and just watch, ) we can discuss starting when the beginner group is doing something suitable

You are welcome to bring lunch and work independently after class once you have the skills 😊 to work without us.

Single class $3,500 + materials and firing. $14,000 plus gct for 4 week beginner package.

Includes  instruction, clay,  tools, materials and firing. Plus GCT = $16,100

Monthly fee is $7,000 ( U$50) and includes 4 Tuesdays with either Ian or myself and usually both.

We close for classes in Nov and December for shows and May for international workshop.

The fine print 😊 - Beginner package includes everything you will need IF you follow class “recommendations” if you make large or dramatically more than a normal beginner there will be a charge for additional clay and firing.  Max for 4 weeks is 10 lbs clay and 500cubic inches of firing space - eg small cup 3”x 3”x 3” = 27 cubic inches so thats 18 cups included and additional cups would cost J$135 each to glaze and fire twice.

We have 14+ wheels and an abundance of tables, tools and everything you need to start. Clay is $300/lb and firing is J$ 5 per cubic inch.

“Experts” can join in class or come with a plan and we will help you work out how to make what you dream. I am always available to do more advanced demonstrations and discussions. If you would like some advanced help to start your day, please come at 9:30 am so we have time before beginners  start @ 10. ( otherwise my help may have to wait till after 12 )

For newbies... My pottery studio is at Good Hope in Trelawny - all classes are here - only here, only Tuesdays 😊 - private classes are available by appointment. The space is wide open and breezy- there are 12 large tables, lots of space to spread out 😊 Pieces to be fired are measured and charged per cubic inch above initial firing deposit. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty,  bring an old towel, snacks and drinks. We have a small fridge you can use.
